The Chinese company Xiaomi launched its new reading device called Mi Reader Pro as a successor to its Mi Reader issued in November last year.
The device comes with a screen that supports electronic ink, which is ideal for reading; Because it does not cause eye strain like regular phones or tablets.
The screen measures 7.8 inches with a resolution of 1878 x 1404 pixels, with a pixel density of 300 pixels per inch, adjustable reading lighting, and customizable color grades.
Screen sharpness appears to be a primary goal of improvement, as the 2019 Amazon Kindle has a density of 167 pixels per inch compared to the 2018 Kindle Paperwhite, which has a density of 300 pixels per inch.
The company has provided the device with 2 GB of random access memory, 32 GB of internal storage space and one color option.
Mi Reader Pro works with the Android 8.1 operating system, and you get 24 levels of color tone adjustment, so you can choose between different shades depending on the environment in which you live.
The device includes a quad-core processor, it is powered by a 3200 mAh battery and supports 10-watt charging.
Connectivity options include dual-band wireless networking and Bluetooth 5.0, and it also has an EPDC controller to turn pages smoothly and reduce power consumption.
The e-book reader has a size of 192.1 x 138.6 x 7 mm, weighs only 251 grams, and comes with support for voice search, Baidu cloud and WeChat Reading.
The device also supports multiple file formats, including txt, epub, pdf, xlsx, ppt and doc, and you can also transfer books to Mi Reader Pro using a WLAN or USB connection.
The Mi Reader Pro from Xiaomi is about $ 170, comes in one color, black, and is available for purchase through Xiaomi's crowdfunding platform Youpin.
The company has not yet shared details about the international availability.
It is reported that the Xiaomi Mi e-book reader came with a reading lamp with 24 levels of color tone adjustability, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, an Allwinner quad-core processor, and a screen of 212 pixels per inch.
