Samsung may launch 4 foldable phones in 2021

According to a report from South Korea, Samsung is planning to launch four models of foldable smartphones, which include two smartphones of the type that folds horizontally, in addition to two smartphones of the type that folds vertically.



The report stated that the launch of all these smartphones will take place during the second half of next year. He pointed out that this decision attracts the attention of the smart phone industry, as Samsung is changing its strategy in the field of leading smartphones after it launched the Galaxy S series in the first half of each year, and the Galaxy Note series in the second half.


Samsung is planning to launch two models of the Galaxy Z Fold3 phone, and two models of the Galaxy Z Flip 2 Galaxy Z Flip2. The Galaxy Z Fold3 will be the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold2 that folds horizontally, and the Galaxy Z Flip2 will be the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip that folds vertically. Both phones will support 5G networks.


The Galaxy Z Flip2 will be available in both advanced and universal models. And unlike the Galaxy Z Flip, which was launched with two models; One of them supports 5G networks, while the other is limited to supporting 4G LTE networks. Both models of the Galaxy Z Flip2 will support fifth generation networks, although they will differ in specifications, and other features. It is reported that Samsung has developed a plan to start manufacturing these foldable phones in August of next year.


Samsung is believed to be counting on foldable smartphones as an important product that drives the smartphone business. In light of the saturation in the global smartphone market, Samsung has become the only company that can produce foldable smartphones on a large scale, and has achieved large sales of this promising category of phones.


In a conference call dedicated to talking about Samsung's performance in the third quarter, the company confirmed that sales of the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold2 phones were steady despite the decrease in demand for smartphones worldwide due to the Coronavirus pandemic.


It is now said that Samsung plans to end the Galaxy Note series to be replaced by foldable smartphones, and the most prominent features of the series, which is the S Pen, will be transferred to the flagship models of the Galaxy S series phones that will be launched early next year.
